This is an oldie, but I liked it better than any of the other ideas I came up with for "entangled." Click on the image to view it larger, or take a peek at it
here, on flickr. I did try a little experimental drawing with some tangly thread, but it fell a bit flat:

I like using IF as an opportunity to try new things, or to revisit old media that I haven't picked up in a while. But it's also important to me to share something of good quality. This week these two aims were mutually exclusive, and my pride won out in the end. But I wanted to share my unsuccessful image anyway--who knows, it might even lead somewhere someday.
I think I'm in a little creative slump this week. I'm off to the studio soon, where I'll try to find a way out of it;)

Well, I actually love both of these! Nothing unsuccessful about the lower one to me. In fact, I think it's a wonderfully quirky and off center piece! I'm voting YES! This is NOT a slump!! :)
Wow love the colour. Beautiful.
The top illustration is very accomplished, brings "Mirror Mask" to mind. The one at bottom has some good things going on, but I think the meandering thread works against the idea of entrapment - it's a little too relaxed for the birdman to feel threatened. I also wonder about introducing a colored thread? My two cents.
Fascinating - both pieces!
I love your artwork. I'ts really poetic...
Thank you all for your kind comments! And for the helpful feedback, ArtSparker:)
