Illustration Friday: Propagate

Here's my submission to this week's IF theme.  I like the word "propagate."  It sounds clinical, but the meaning is ripe (no pun intended) with narrative possibilities.  Those pale purple smudges were not originally intended to look like bird poop, but the resemblance turns out to be quite fitting;)  This piece is acrylic on a cut and collaged map.

Wow! I think this is gorgeous, both in color and composition. Really nice. I always admire this type of painting... I adore your blog heading as well.

What a beautiful apocalypse. It's very witty - Have you read Sheri Tepper's The Family Tree?

Thanks! I have not read Tepper's novel. But I just peeked at it on Amazon, read the back cover and added it to my reading list. It looks like an excellent source of inspiration for the continuation of this series!

this is incredible. Do you ever have gallery showings in NYC?

Thanks B.t.S.
I did once have one painting in a group show in NYC. The rest have all been around Boston and New Hampshire. So far;)
